Pregnancy Photohsoot FAQs

Updated: Apr 8, 2021

When should I book my Pregnancy Photosession?

For maternity photography sessions you should book at least 6 weeks in advance. If you have only just found me and would like to book then please get in touch as I occasionally have last minute availability.

For bump to baby sessions (maternity & newborn) I recommend booking just after your 20 week scan.

When is the best time for Maternity Photoshoot?

The best time to do your pregnancy photoshoot is between 28-36 weeks of your pregnancy. If you are expecting twins it is best to schedule your maternity shoot for around 29-30 weeks.

Do you provide outfits to wear for the session?

I have a selection of dresses and materials which can be used during a pregnancy photoshoot and you are welcome to bring any clothing or props with you. Floaty dresses and pastel, white or neutral shades are recommended when choosing outfits to bring with you. If you have a particular image in mind I will work with you to get the best out of your photoshoot. Please let me know in advance if you want to use your dresses so I can prepare the studio (lighting, background) to accommodate your request.

Do you retouch the images?

Yes, after your maternity photography shoot I will professionally retouch your images so that they look their best. Don't worry though! I am an experienced Photoshop user and I will not airbrush your skin to make you look plastic - I want you to look like yourself.

Do you provide hair and make up service for your Maternity Photosession?

Yes, this service is complementary and included in pregnancy photography. However, if you would like to arrange your own hair and make up artist to come along then by all means do so. This will not change the booking fee price.

I don't feel comfortable being nude. Do I have to take my clothes off?

Not at all, this is a personal choice. I want you to have the best experience at your pregnancy photography photoshoot and this includes being comfortable. We can use fabrics to drape over you to give the impression of being semi nude look. I take pictures with pants on and remove them in Photoshop for the nude look purposes. If you prefer to be fully covered this can also look amazing.
